His sophomore album, 2007's Because of You, also debuted at No. 1 and went platinum, with its title track reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2008, he released his third album, Year of the Gentleman, with the top 10 hit singles "Closer," "Mad," and "Miss Independent," and again hit No. 2 on the album chart. The album also earned six Grammy nominations including Album of the Year. His fourth album, 2010's critically acclaimed Libra Scale, debuted at No. 9 on the US Billboard 200. In 2011, his collaboration on Pitbull's track "Give Me Everything" became a No. 1 single, and the following year he moved to Motown Records and put out his fifth studio album R.E.D. in September 2012. NE-YO released his latest and sixth full-length album, Non-Fiction in February 2015 which includes the hit single "She Knows" featuring Juicy J.

Born and bred on Chicago's South Side, R&B singer Jeremih taught himself how to play several instruments and didn't consider himself a vocalist until a warmly received performance at a talent show. At Chicago's Columbia College, he struck up a partnership with producer Mick Schultz, and the two closely collaborated on the material that would become Jeremih's debut album, released in June 2009 on Def Jam. "Birthday Sex," its first single, debuted on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop Singles chart that March. A year later, Jeremih issued his follow-up, All About You. Two of its songs, "Down on Me" and "I Like," reached the Top 30 of the R&B Hip Hop Singles chart. His latest album N.O.M.A. was released in 2014.
