Future to Bring 'The New Street Kings' to the Fox Theatre This Winter

By:

Hip-hop artist and rapper Future is ready to dominate the charts and the Fox Theatre stage when he brings "The New Street Kings" to Detroit with special guests Yo Gotti, Migos and Young Dro on Sunday, December 13 at 7 p.m. Line-up is subject to change.

Tickets ($28.50, $79.50, $89.50 and $99.50) go on sale Saturday, October 10 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at OlympiaEntertainment.com, LiveNation.com, The Fox Theatre and Joe Louis Arena box offices, Hockeytown Authentics in Troy (without service charge) at all Ticketmaster locations and Ticketmaster.com. To charge tickets by phone, call (800) 745-3000. For additional information, call (313) 471-6611.

In 2010, Future released his debut mixtape 1000, beginning an unrivaled period of prolificacy that included the critically acclaimed 2011 mixtapes Dirty Sprite and Streetz Calling. Guest spots on everything from Ace Hood's platinum selling "Bugatti" to Lil Wayne's "Love Me" to YC's "Racks" cemented his status as a go-to featured artist, while writing credits on Rihanna's "Loveeeeeee Song" off her GRAMMY Award-winning album Unapologetic and writing/production work with Miley Cyrus and Ciara has allowed Future to surpass and shun any easy labels.

After releasing a prolific string of successful mixtapes, the rapper dropped Pluto, his official debut album. The album features the ubiquitous hits "Same Damn Time," "Turn on the Lights," "Tony Montana" (with Drake), "Magic" (with T.I.) and "Neva End" (with Kelly Rowland). Pluto was heralded as one of the best albums of 2012 by the likes of the New York Times, Washington Post, SPIN and more. But despite his growing profile -- and contrary to today's "rules" that you must divulge everything about yourself to everyone immediately -- Future stayed on the humble, preferring to keep certain parts of his unique life private.

Future's sophomore full length, Honest, was only the next rung on an ever-growing ladder. "I still ain't hit that next level of where I want to be," admits Future. "I'm always looking for that next big break. I never feel like I've achieved that level of success that I want to achieve. It's a blessing where I'm at, but to be where I really want to be, I have something bigger planned for my life. I can't feel it but I know I can see it."
