Mary Foster Conklin Royal Room Debut

The winner of the 2010 MAC Award for Jazz Vocalist by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, Mary Foster Conklin is a true jazz original. Her voice is smoky with a tart twist of lemon. Her style has been described as both recognizably traditional yet unmistakably contemporary, as she puts her personal stamp on a repertoire that spans over eight decades. Conklin has appeared in theatres, jazz clubs and cabarets throughout the United States and Canada. Her choice of songs is an eclectic mix of contemporary material and standards, creating a hybrid sound that combines big band swing, straight ahead jazz, traditional pop and cabaret. She has wowed audiences at The Blue Note, The Iridium, Nuyorican Poets Café, Sweet Rhythm, The Metropolitan Room and the Triad Theatre in New York, as well as The Plush Room in San Francisco the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles.

About The Colony Hotel - Palm Beach
Host to Presidents Bush and Clinton, the Windsor's and other royalty, The Colony has been the center of Palm Beach society for more than 60 years. An intimate, friendly boutique hotel with British Colonial flair, it is just steps away from shopping on world famous Worth Avenue, and about 100 yards from a beautiful Atlantic Ocean beach. This landmark hotel recently completed an extensive $15-million renovation and offers guests the choice of charming hotel rooms, luxurious suites, spectacular penthouses and spacious two bedroom villas - plus beautiful grounds and Frette linens.

The Colony's popular restaurants include:
+ Polo, which is now Palm Beach's number one steakhouse, offering dining al fresco in the hotel's newly remodeled Palm Court by the pool
+ Royal Room, which is widely considered to be one of the nation's premier cabarets
+ Café 155, which is a petit New York-style deli serving delicious breakfasts and lunches prepared in the hotel's award-winning kitchen.

In 2010, The Colony Hotel once again was awarded the prestigious "4-Diamond" rating from AAA. Last November, the hotel received the Palm Beach County Convention & Visitors Bureau's Providencia Award, South Florida's most prestigious annual honor recognizing excellence within the local hospitality and tourism industry. This was the first time in the 21-year history of the Providencia Award that it has gone to a smaller, boutique hotel. For more information, please visit www.thecolonypalmbeach.com.
