The Artist Series Presents FOOD FIGHT 5/5-9
After a world premiere at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre in 2007 followed by a national tour, the hilarious musical Food Fight: A Musical Comedy For Waist Watchers! will be giving Jacksonville audiences a helping of the hit show about the universal obsession with food. Food Fight! makes its Jacksonville debut at the Wilson Center for the Arts on May 5-9, 2010 for six performances only!
Food Fight: A Musical Comedy For Waist Watchers! leaves audiences tapping their toes and holding their sides with its spot-on parody songs that include "If I Were A Size Two," sung to "If I Were A Rich Man;" "Botox Queen," to the tune of "Dancing Queen;" and "I Went to the Buffet Lane," to "I Heard It Through the Grapevine."
The entertaining plot line about waistlines follows four ladies in a women's-only gym dealing with food, diets, exercise, yoga, plastic surgery, self-esteem and marriage.
In his review of the premiere, Bill Hirschman of the Sun Sentinel wrote the show, "is a frothy sweet confection....but as they say on Top Chef, the presentation is superb."
Directed by Andy Rogow, the production features Carbonell Award-nominee Missy McArdle, Lili Maron, Tafee Patterson and Amanda Shae Wilborn.
Writer and producer Alan Jacobson, a Palm Beach Gardens resident, drew his inspiration from the constant media attention to food and diets, and he has catered his show to theater-lovers boundless appetite for a feel-good night at the theater with Food Fight: A Musical Comedy For Waist Watchers!
