The Actor's Playhouse Presents JACK AND THE BEANSTALK at Miracle Theatre, 1/28-3/27

Kicking off the New Year at the Miracle Theatre is the Prince Street Player's award winning version of the classic fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk presented live on stage January 28 - March 27, 2010 by the Actors' Playhouse Musical Theatre for Young Audiences.

Based on the fairy tale by Joseph Jacobs, this wacky adventure takes the climb with Jack as he goes up the magical beanstalk into the world of a Giant Inventor, a tap dancing Golden Goose, and a Golden Harp that can really "get down"! With book and lyrics by Jim Eiler, and music by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy, this fanciful musical is full of surprises that are sure to entertain. Go along with Jack on his magical journey as he attempts to avoid temptation, escape the giant, and learns some important life lessons along the way.

Jack and the Beanstalk will play at the Miracle Theatre from January 28 - February 27th on Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and March 6 - March 27th on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m.

Select weekday 10 a.m. performances are available for pre-arranged fieldtrips and can be booked through the education department at educate@actorsplayhouse.org or 305.444.9293 x 606. Actors' Playhouse provides detailed study guides and a talkback with the cast for all weekday student performances.

The 2009-2010 Theatre for Young Audiences season presents more amazing favorites including The National Children's Theatre Festival winner YOUNG KING ARTHUR (April 29-May 29, 2010) with the 2010 KIDS FEST all day cultural events taking place on May 1st and 2nd, and Pippi Longstocking (June 23-August 7, 2010).

Actors' Playhouse Musical Theatre for Young Audiences has been awarded the South Florida Parenting Magazine's Kid's Crown Award, voted by their readers, for "Best of the Best Live Entertainment for Kids in Miami-Dade County" and has also been named a Kid's Crown Hall of Fame Winner.

This event is made possible by Baptist Children's Hospital and with the support of the City of Coral Gables, with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, The Cultural Affairs Council, The Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, and by the Peacock Foundation, Inc.
