Spring Classes are Warming Up at Florida Rep.

Florida Repertory Theatre's Education Department is now enrolling for Two New Sessions of Classes for youth and adults, and has opportunities for children ages 4 and up.

Florida Rep's popular youth & adult classes are taught by area theatre professionals, and bring the craft of theatre to the community in fun, creative and informative ways.

Spring Class Session #1
The first six-week class session runs Monday evenings in Florida Rep's studio space in the Fort Myers River District from Now through March 30th.

WHALE OF A TALE for ages 4-7

Children are natural born storytellers. So why not let them explore the corners of their imagination and learn how to make those stories a reality? Through games and exercises in expression, focusing energy and building confidence, young minds will be thrilled at the masterpieces of their own creation.

Now - Mar. 30
Mondays, 4-5pm - $90

IMPROVE YOUR IMPROV for ages 8-12

Do you find yourself wishing you were on SNL? It's not always easy to make improv look effortless, but Florida Rep can help. In this class students get to learn a wide range of improvisational techniques, exercises and games to create their own sketch comedy or improv performances.

Mondays, 5-6:30pm - $90

INTRO TO MUSICAL THEATRE for ages 14 & up

Are you a showtune junkie? Do you love to sing along with the radio? Well then this workshop is perfect for you. Students will learn about musical theatre from its history to auditioning and finding the path to that Tony Award. Whether you are looking to build some confidence singing in front of others, or hoNe Your skills, go to their "NO FEAR" class, no matter your experience level!

Mondays, 7-9pm - $120

Spring Class Session #2
The second six-week class session runs on Monday evenings from April 13th to May 18th.

TWIST & SHOUT for ages 4-7

Children will get movin' and groovin' to the beat of their imagination will this fun class. Youngsters can go crazy with their voice and body, but also learn to control and focus that energy into positive, creative outlets. By entering the world of creative voice and movement, students are sure to have an experience full of laughs and excitement.

Apr. 13 - May 18
Mondays, 4-5pm - $90

ON AIR: RADIO PLAYS for ages 8-13

Does your child specialize in using silly voices? Do they love to make noise? Students in this exciting new offering will challenge themselves to create entire stories with only their voice. Focusing on vocal technique and character development, they will create radio shows from silly to spooky complete with sound effects.

Apr. 13 - May 18
Mondays, 6-6:30pm - $90

IT'S ALL IN THE TIMING for ages 14 & up

Are people always telling you how funny you are? Do you think you have what it takes to be a comedian? Prove it. Students of all levels of experience will explore the dos and don'ts of comedy from timing, to finding material. This class will culminate in a final workshop where students will get to show off their comedic scenes, sketches and monologues.

Mondays, 7-9pm - $120
