Rising Action Theatre Inc.'s SORDID LIVES Closes 2/21
Rising Action Theatre Inc.'s 'Sordid Lives' will close on February 21, 2010.
A black comedy by Del Shores (Southern Baptist Sissies, Queer as Folk) about small minds in small town Texas, complete with cross-dressing "Brother Boy" and his obsession with country singer Tammy Wynette! Nominated for over thirty awards (and winner of 14 Dramalogue Awards) during its long run in Los Angeles. It then became a movie and most recently a hit TV series on Logo starring Rue McClanahan.
When Peggy, a good Christian woman, hits her head on the sink and bleeds to death after tripping over her lover's wooden legs in a motel room, chaos erupts in Winters, Texas.
"[This play by] the master of Texas Comedy, Del Shores has colorful eccentrics teetering on a Bowie knife's edge between the hilariously improbable and the achingly real." L.A. Times.
Rising Action Theatre, Inc. is dedicated to promoting and educating the public in diversity and tolerance for all people through theatre arts. It will present plays with multi-cultural themes and works of social relevance.
