Palm Beach Dramaworks to Offer Pay Your Age

By: Dec. 07, 2015

In an effort to introduce new audiences to live theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks is inviting those aged 18 - 40 toPay Your Age for Sunday evening performances. Additionally, participants can bring their ticket to Subculture Coffee for 50% off coffee, Hullabaloo for 2-for-1 wines by the glass, or LongBoards for 2-for-1 draft beers.

"We're always being asked, 'How do theatres attract new audiences,'" says Sue Ellen Beryl, PBD managing director. "It's difficult, because too many young people have never been exposed to the stage. Plus, there is now so much entertainment available at the touch of a finger that it's tough to lure people away from their screens. But we believe strongly in the power of live theatre, and we hope that these prices will be an inducement to get newcomers to experience the magic for themselves. We also hope to attract young people who already enjoy theatre but are just starting out and could not otherwise afford the price of a ticket. As it happens, Sunday evening performances are followed by Talkbacks, so audiences get the chance to ask the cast questions about the play."

Tickets are based on availability. A photo ID with proof of age is required when picking up tickets.

Pay Your Age is sponsored in part by the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and by radio station 93.5 The Bar.
