Everyone knows the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, but what ever happened to Jacob Marley? This Holiday Season, Actors' Playhouse presents a unique twist on Charles Dickens' timeless tale in the play Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol.

"Scrooge? I have to redeem old Scrooge? The one man I knew who was worse than I was? Impossible!"

So begins the real story behind Dickens' A Christmas Carol—the story of Jacob Marley's heroic behind-the-scenes efforts to save old Scrooge's soul—and in the process, save his own. Aided by a Bogle, a malicious little hell-sprite with an agenda of his own, their hilarious journey takes them from the Jaws of Death to the Mouth of Hell—and beyond! . Filled with laughter and terror, redemption and renewal, this irreverent, funny, and ultimately, deeply moving story retells Dickens' classic with warmth and infectious zest.

The Actors’ Playhouse production, which runs through January 1, features Carbonell Award-winning Actor Ken Clement playing more than 30 characters in Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol, which he had performed previously at New Theatre in 2002.

Christine Dolen, The Miami Herald's Theatre Critic stated, “The always impressive Clement reaches into his bottomless actor’s tool kit...he’s funny, fiery, bemused, and moving.”

A South Florida favorite, Ken has appeared at nearly every theatre in Dade and Broward County. Actors' Playhouse audiences will remember Clement from past productions as Mr. Bumble in Oliver! Benjamin Franklin in 1776, Santa in Another Night Before Christmas, The Big Bang, and Sherlock’s Last Case. Other favorite South Florida credits include Seafarer, Glengarry Glen Ross and Rabbit Hole at Mosaic Theatre; Fatty Arbuckle in Broward Stagedoor’s Mack and Mabel; and The Lieutenant of Inishmore and Address Unknown at GableStage.

Actors' Playhouse Artistic Director David Arisco will bring Tom Mula's fabulous script to life. The creative team for Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol includes Set Designer Gene Seyffer, Costume Designer Ellis Tillman, Lighting Designer Patrick Tennent and Sound Designer Alexander Herrin.
