Teachers in Annual Award Ceremony

October 26 Marks Recognition to Drama Teacher Lori Sessions

As 2005 Award Recipient, and 20th Anniversary of the Program

Broward County Commission's Cultural Division invites interested
community members to attend the 2005 Arts Teacher of the Year Award
Ceremony on October 26, 6:00 pm, at the Broward Center for the
Performing Arts' Amaturo Theater. In this 20th anniversary year,
Lori Sessions, drama teacher from J.P. Taravella High School and
founder of the South Florida Cappies, will be the honored recipient.

Sessions is recognized by her peers, students and parents as one of
the top drama educators in Broward County. A two-time nominee of the
Arts Teacher of the Year program, and included in the Who's Who
Among America's Teachers in 2000, 2002, and 2004, she has been
nominated for the Disney American Teacher Awards in 2004, and was
named Teacher of the Year at Taravella High School in 2004.

For the past 20 years, one outstanding arts educator has been
honored at this award ceremony and performance. This year, guests
will be entertained as drama students from J.P. Taravella High
School perform songs and skits and there will be a video
presentation entitled "A Day in the Life of Ms. Sessions" added to
the lineup.

Sponsors for the event include: Broward County Board of County
Commissioners through the Broward County Cultural Council and
