Auditions For Musical 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' At The Waterfront Playhouse

By: May. 10, 2010

The Waterfront Playhouse announced auditions for their 2010/11 musical, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." Auditions will be held Sunday, May 23, 2 to 5 pm at the Playhouse. Production dates for the show are tentatively scheduled for February 24 to March 19, 2011, with rehearsals beginning mid-January.

"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" will be directed by Danny Weathers with musical direction by Michael Fauss and choreography by Penny Leto. The musical has a book by Jeffrey Lane with music/lyrics by David Yazbek. The musical is based on the movie of the same name starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin. It ran on Broadway for almost 2 years and was nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Sorry, no perusal scripts are available, but auditioners will have time to look over the audition scene. In addition, please bring a brief song that shows off your vocal ability. Movement auditions will be done at the callbacks - time TBD.

The production team will be looking for excellent singers who move well. Please check their website for details on the plot of the musical, as well as the character breakdown: www.waterfrontplayhouse.org.

Questions may be directed to Danny Weathers at artistic_director@waterfrontplayhouse.org.
