Asolo Repertory Theatre's Producing Artistic Director Michael Donald Edwards and Managing Director Linda DiGabriele will announce the 2009-2010 season of plays on MONDAY, March 9, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. Greg Leaming, director of the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, will also announce his selections for the next Conservatory Season.

The Season Announcement takes place in Asolo Rep's Mertz Theatre at 5555 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. This event is free and open to the public. Seating is first-come, first seated; doors open at 3:30 p.m. Call the Asolo Rep Box Office for more information at 941-351-8000*. A drawing will also be held and a lucky attendee will win a pair of tickets to the show of their choice during the 09-10 season.

The Season Announcement rides the wave of excitement stirred up by Asolo Rep's 50th Anniversary season, as the next season is unveiled to the press and the community for the first time. Eager theatregoers traditionally fill the house in hopes of being among the first to find out what award winning and groundbreaking works Asolo Rep will present in the coming year.

Asolo Rep has been breaking records and causing a buzz early each season with productions like A Tale of Two Cities in 2007 and Barnum in 2008. Both were big, bold musicals that sold out early. But Asolo Rep is also focused on launching and developing new works like Jason Wells' Men of Tortuga and Perfect Mendacity, and the re-imagined production of Working which has gone on to open at the Old Globe in San Diego this March.

Don't miss the great reveal of Asolo Rep's 2009-2010 Season on March 9th at 4:00 p.m.
