The 24 Hour Plays: Memphis - High School at LoneTree Live

LoneTree Live is producing The 24 Hour Plays: Memphis High School! On June 21, 2025, we will bring together rising-9th-grade to recently-graduated senior students to produce a show that they create with mentorship from local theater artists. In just 24 hours, 6 writers, 6 directors and 24 actors from the Memphis-area high school community will produce 6 short plays that are written and prepared just for you. This ultimate creative challenge is set to be presented for one night only at TheatreWorks at The Evergreen. Our first three adult editions (2022-24) of this unique event built community and we're excited to provide this opportunity for high school artists!

The 24 Hour Plays: Memphis is committed to showcasing an outstanding group of artists that reflects the best of Memphis. The event is open to the public, and tickets are only $15, making it an affordable and accessible way for anyone to experience this one-time-only event. Attending the plays also is a great opportunity for theater lovers, friends and family to support local artists and to see new and exciting work.

This production is based on a long-running format based out of New York City that has been produced around the world since 1995 and is called The 24 Hour Plays: https://24hourplays.com. LoneTree Live is glad to partner with them to license our own local affiliate productions and to amplify the creative voices of our city in this unique format.

If you’re worried about watching 24 steady hours of theater, no need! It’s not 24 hours of plays, The 24 Hour Plays: Memphis High School is a performance of 6 short plays created in 24 hours. At 7:00 p.m. on Friday night, the writers, directors, and actors will meet and after that it's a sprint to the finish - the curtain goes up at 7:00 p.m. the next night!
