MBAA Jazz-A-F!RE Presents Living Legends Series
On the last Sunday of each month, Memphis Black Arts Alliance is delighted to present some of the BEST artists in the area at Jazz-A-F!RE. Come and relax to the cool sounds of house band Prime Cut Trio, house DJ c'beyohn, along with spectacular vocals by host Cequita Monique. The event ends with an invitation to the audience to join the band on stage in the BYOI (Bring Your Own Instrument) for a full-out jam session!
This month, we continues a year-long 35th Anniversary Celebration with another session of our Jazz Legends Series featuring the INCOMPARABLE DR. BILL HURD!
Dr. Bill Hurd is a true musical legend, and is a welcome feature at music venues in the mid-south and beyond! Dr. Hurd's mastery of the alto and tenor saxophone is reminiscent of Coltrane, and his virtuosity on soprano and baritone sax is equally outstanding! Bill Hurd has recorded with Kirk Whalum, Isaac Hayes, Maurice White, J. Blackfoot, as well as legendary Memphis musicians such as Floyd Newman, Rod McGaha, and Lester Snell!
