Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson to Appear at the Orpheum Theatre February 13th

The Orpheum Theatre Group is proud to announce that tickets are on sale now to see famed astrophysicist, Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson on Monday, February 13th at 7:00 PM at the historic Orpheum Theatre. The evening's lecture is entitled "An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies."

From Star Wars to Frozen to The Martian, "An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies" is an entertaining and enlightening review of all the science that our favorite movies got wrong, combined with some of the things they got right. It incorporates the latest films as well as some classics that you may not have known had any science in them at all.

Tickets are available for purchase online at the official Orpheum Theatre website, www.orpheum-memphis.com, the Orpheum Box Office(901.525.3000), the ticket counter at The Booksellers at Laurelwood, and Ticketmaster (901.743.ARTS).

About Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson:

Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson was born and raised in New York City where he was educated in the public schools clear through his graduation from the Bronx High School of Science. Tyson went on to earn his BA in Physics from Harvard and his PhD in Astrophysics from Columbia. Tyson's professional research interests are broad, but include star formation, exploding stars, dwarf galaxies, and the structure of our Milky Way. Recently Tyson served as Executive Editor and on camera Host & Narrator for Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey, the 21st century continuation of Carl Sagan's landmark television series. Tyson is the fifth head of the world-renowned Hayden Planetarium in New York City and the first occupant of its Frederick P. Rose Directorship. He is also a research associate of the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History.
