National Tour of KNUFFLE BUNNY Comes to the Orpheum, 4/16

By:

The Kennedy Center production of Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical is coming to The Orpheum Theatre on Saturday evening, April 16th at 6:00 PM as part of The Orpheum Theatre Family Series

If you've ever felt lost, then you'll know just how Trixie's favorite stuffed Knuffle Bunny feels when he's left all alone. If you've ever felt loved, then you'll know just how Trixie, Knuffle Bunny, and their family feel when they're together.

It sounds so simple, just a quick trip to the Laundromat with Daddy, Trixie, and her beloved Knuffle Bunny. But, before you know it things go horribly and hilariously wrong. Chock full of adventure, song, and gigantic dancing laundry, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical tells a tale of firsts: a stuffed animal's first trip in the laundry, a little girl's first words, and a Daddy's first time dealing with his child going "boneless." Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical a story about family, best friends, baby steps, and memories that last a lifetime.

New York Times #1 Bestselling Author Mo Willems is best known for his Caldecott Honor picture books, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale, and Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity. His Elephant and Piggie early reader series garnered two consecutive Theodore Geisel Medals and Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! was recently one of the first inductees to the Picture Book Hall of Fame. Mr. Willems' career began in television animation where he created the series Sheep in the Big City, served as head writer for Codename: Kids Next Door, and wrote and animated for Sesame Street, where he garnered six Emmy Awards for writing.

Composer Michael Silversher is a Grammy Award® winning songwriter (Elmo in Grouchland), with three primetime Emmy nominations, two for Winnie-the-Pooh and one for the Muppets. In addition to writing the theme songs for Disney's television series, Tale Spin and Gummi Bears, he has over one hundred songs in the Disney catalogue, has written over 42 musical theater works, and has worked extensively with Jim Henson Productions, MGM, Sony, Warner Bros.,

With music by Grammy Award® winning composer Michael Silversher, six-time Emmy Award winning author/illustrator Mo Willems adapts his Caldecott Honor winning children's book Knuffle Bunny into a family musical. The production is recommended for audiences ages 4 and up.
