Set inside the historic brickwork of an authentic 19th-century New England mill, The Haunted Mill Ball 2026: Night Shift invites audiences to "punch in" exactly one century after a fatal 1926 Prohibition-era disaster. Blending environmental storytelling, site-specific staging, and interactive investigation, audience members navigate physical vignettes—including the mill overseer's office, a boarding house room, a bootlegger's secret hideaway, a haunted forest, and a subterranean vault—unearthing cold-case ledgers, tactile ciphers, and live character encounters amidst various physical and theatrical special effects to unlock the sealed tragedy of Jack Vance and Clara Blackwood, revealing a curse placed on the town of Blackwood 3 centuries ago. Using period accurate props and drawing from local history, "Night Shift" is a fully immersive theatrical experience that engages all 5 senses as audience members explore and investigate the rich and tragic history of Blackwood. While this may be experienced as a standalone production, "Night Shift" is considered to be the first part of a trilogy ("The Blackwood Trilogy") that will unfold over the course of the next three years.
