Disney Musicals in Schools at Overture Center for the Arts

Disney Musicals in Schools is a program aimed at introducing the magic of theater to students in under-resourced elementary schools. Starting in January 2026, new participants from Madison Metropolitan School District, including Conrad A Elvehjem and Ray W. Heugel Elementary Schools, will collaborate with Overture Teaching Artists for a 17-week residency. Students will create and perform 30-minute Disney KIDS musicals, culminating in a spring celebration at the Capitol Theater Stage. The initiative not only fosters creativity but also builds essential skills like teamwork and confidence among students and teachers.
