Come From Away by Irene Sankhoff & David Hein won the 2017 Tony Award for Best New Musical. The tiny island of Newfoundland made a big impact when, on September 11, 2001, they found themselves as the unlikely hosts of 38 planes carrying thousands of people. The musical pays tribute to the heroes who showed up that day, celebrating how food, music, and friendship can unite us all. The production is directed by Billy Christopher Maupin.
