Tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain performs a duo concert with frequent collaborator and sitar master Niladri Kumar. Enjoy an evening of invention and interplay from these musical sparring partners on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 8 p.m. at The Kentucky Center, 501 W Main Street, Louisville, KY.

Widely considered a chief architect of the contemporary world music movement, Zakir's contribution to world music has been unique, with many historic collaborations, recordings and performances with artists as diverse as George Harrison, YoYo Ma, Joe Henderson, and the Kodo drummers.

A global icon to reckon with, world renowned and fifth-generation sitar player, Niladri Kumar is an unconventionally rare instrumentalist, honing a unique repertoire and profound in-depth understanding of traditional and classical styles on the sitar to innovative, electrifying renditions on his own instrumental innovation the 'zitar'.
