At twenty-four years old, Mexican singer Lucía is already a seasoned performer breaking out into the mainstream spotlight. She began her career at just two years old. Born into a family of musicians, Lucía spent her youth performing in her parents’ son jarocho band. By thirteen, she was refining her vocal talents at the Universidad Veracruzana. In 2022, she made her mark internationally by winning the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Since debuting on the world stage, Lucía has collaborated with Natalia Lafourcade, Aloe Blacc and La Santa Cecilia, cementing her status as an artist to watch.
Inspired by legends like Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone — and deeply rooted in the Latin American songbook — Lucía’s music is a heartfelt blend of traditional American jazz and Latin folk. Her recently released debut album was produced by Grammy-winner Matt Pierson and features Edward Simon, David Sanchez, Larry Grenadier, and Antonio Sánchez.
This first collection of work showcases Lucía’s signature sound, shaped by her history and journey to this very moment in her already illustrious career.
