Vox Femina with On Ensemble at Zipper Hall Nov.3 & 4

By:

Vox Femina presents "Rhythms of Life" with the ON Ensemble at the Zipper Concert Hall - Colbun School on November 3 & 4.

"From rocking in the womb, to the beating of our hearts, to the sounds of the world in action around us, there's rhythm, there's a beat, it's basic, it's life. Join Vox Femina Los Angeles and their special guests, the innovative, musically fresh ON Ensemble (www.onensemble.org), a troupe of Taiko drummers.  Listen, feel and experience a world beat that will touch your very core," state press notes.

Vox Femina Los Angeles is a women's choral ensemble dedicated to the performance of quality choral literature with an emphasis on music by women composers. Choral singing is one of the oldest performance arts in existence, but VFLA is excited to perform new works and accept new challenges for themselves and for the audience. Dr. Iris S. Levine founded VFLA in 1997. In the past decade, VFLA has established itself as one of the preeminent women's choruses in the United States with a demonstrated ability to perform highly eclectic repertoire, some of which can be heard on several recordings.  It has actively fulfilled its goals through an exciting schedule of performances, touring and educational outreach.  VFLA has demonstrated its support and encouragement of living composers through commissioning new works. Vox Los Angeles is funded through grants and private donations.

Concerts are Saturday November 3 at 8PM and Sunday November 4 at 4PM

The Zipper Concert Hall - Colburn School is located at 200 S. Grand Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90012 .
