Theatre of NOTE, in association with Opiate of the Masses, brings a bonus production to its 2015 season: the world premiere of RIO HONDO by Bill Robens, the author of Entropy, Kill Me, Deadly and A Mulholland Christmas Carol and directed by Jaime Robledo, of Stoneface and Watson fame.

RIO HONDO will preview tonight, November 13 and tomorrow, November 14 at 8PM, and opens Thursday, November 19th at 8PM. The show runs through Sunday, December 20th at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N. Cahuenga Blvd. (just North of Sunset) in Hollywood.

RIO HONDO (performed in CinemaStage!) is set against the backdrop of the Wild West.

It's the epic story of a lone stranger with a haunted past who comes back to Hondo to face his demons while combating both a notorious desperado and ruthless assassins working for the railroad--all the while trying to protect a beautiful widow, and her land, from the encroaching forces of progress and change. RIO HONDO follows the classic western tentpole plot lines, but spins those iconic scenarios with humorous twists. From the world's greatest blind female gunfighter, the Filipino cook/poet/philosopher, and young gunfighters with six-shooter envy, RIO HONDO is a new serving of Bill Robens' comic gift, once again applied to a significant cinematic genre, complemented by Jaime Robledo's manic, inventive staging, which ropes in as many laughs as there are cows in an old west cattle drive.
