'The Boychick Affair' Premieres at The Hayworth Jan.27

By:

The Boychick Affair - The Bar Mitzvah of Harry Boychick, a new interactive show from writer/producer Amy Lord, creator of "Grandma Sylvia's Funeral," will have its world premiere at The Hayworth Theater, January 27.

The Boychick Affair follows in the tradition of "Grandma Sylvia's Funeral," a hands-on environmental comedy show where audience members will mingle with the actors, affording them the opportunity to experience a nightmarishly hysterical 'dysfunctional family' up close and personal.  From Harry Boychick's Bar Mitzvah ceremony to the rollicking catered reception following, the audience joins in the insanity, the dancing, the fun and a celebratory meal as well.   Veering off the path of chopped liver, matzo ball soup, brisket and pigs in the blanket, "The Boychick Affairs'" Bar Mitzvah luncheon cuisine surprise is all part of this zany, kooky theatrical ride, wrapping around the story of twenty-three different characters dealing with contemporary issues in an outrageously humorous way.

Premiering Sunday, January 27, The Boychick Affair performances are scheduled every Sunday at 2 p.m., for an open ended run. There will be no Friday night or Saturday matinee performances in observance of the Jewish Sabbath.

Tickets are $36.00 which includes a meal during the reception.  Discounts available to senior citizens.  For information on group sales of 10 or more, please call 818.986.2908.  Please note The Boychick Affair is not handicap accessible.

The Hayworth Theatre is located at 2509 Wilshire Blvd. two blocks east of Rampart near downtown Los Angeles. Tel. 213.389.9860    For Reservations please visit www.TheHayworth.com or www.brownpapertickets.com, Tel 800.838.3006
