Tabard Theatre Company Presents CROSSING DELANCY, 1/27-2/19
The Tabard Theatre Company, managing and resident theatre company at Theatre on San Pedro Square. Visit us online at www.tabardtheatre.org. CROSSING DELANCEY, a romantic comedy by Susan Sandler that achieved fame on Broadway and in a film version starring Amy Irving (Golden Globe nomination).
Heart, insight, and laughs highlight CROSSING DELANCEY. Set in 1985, it’s the story of Izzy, who yearns to trade her traditional Jewish upbringing on New York’s Lower East Side for the slick glamour of Manhattan’s literary scene. While Izzy may be captivated by the city’s intelligentsia—and a sophisticated author— she has the good sense to sit down and listen to the Old World wisdom of Bubbie, her grandmother. When Bubbie and a matchmaker try to arrange a date for Izzy with Sam, the local pickle vendor, a generational and cultural clash erupts. Izzy has ideas of her own, but the conflict is resolved with a generous dose of humor, wisdom, and affection. CROSSING DELANCEY is a production all ages can enjoy together!
