THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES Come To Long Beach, Previews 4/16

By:

You're invited to the 1958 prom as MUSICAL Theatre West ushers in spring with the Roger Bean smash Off-Broadway musical hit, The Marvelous Wonderettes. The Marvelous Wonderettes previews on Friday, April 16 and opens Saturday, April 17 with performances through May 2 at the beautiful Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach.

The Marvelous Wonderettes, conceived and directed by Roger Bean (creator of The Andrews Brothers, MTW's 2008 Ovation Winner for Best Ensemble), comes home to the west coast after enjoying a successful run Off-Broadway. The Marvelous Wonderettes takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet four girls (Missy, Betty Jean, Suzy and Cindy Lou) with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! Featuring classic song favorites "Lollipop," "Dream Lover," "Lipstick on Your Collar," "Secret Love," "Mr. Sandman," and so many more, The Marvelous Wonderettes promises to be a prom night you won't forget!

This production will be directed by Roger Bean, with musical direction by Michael Borth and choreography by Janet Miller. Misty Cotton (Broadway's Miss Saigon), Beth Malone (Broadway's Ring of Fire), Bets Malone (Original NY Wonderettes) and Darcie Roberts (Broadway's Aida) will star, respectively, as Missy, Betty Jean, Suzy, and Cindy Lou.
