Sylvia Brooks Returns to Catalina Bar & Grill 7/16

By special request, on Wednesday, July 16th, Sylvia Brooks will be returning to Catalina Bar & Grill for a much anticipated encore performance.  With her dynamic sextet, featuring some of L.A.'s top jazz musicians and musical direction and arrangements by the incomparable Mr. Tom Garvin, this will be an evening not to be missed.
 
An astounding talent, Ms. Brooks' vocal styling and sultry stage presence harken back to an era of truly legendary singers. Some may say that she's a cross between Judy Garland and Julie London but all will say that she has a distinctive sound all her own.
 
As an accomplished performer, Sylvia has headlined at the premier jazz clubs in Los Angeles, New York and Miami. And now, Tom Garvin, who has written and arranged for Diana Krall, Anita Baker, Sarah Vaughn and Carmen McRae, has masterfully arranged an outstanding selection of songs from The Great American Songbook for Ms. Brooks, guaranteeing an evening uniquely rich and original music.
