Photo Flash: L.A. Theatre Works To Air Tom Stoppard's THE REAL THING On 9/5
This weekend, beginning Saturday, September 5, L.A. Theatre Works will air The Real Thing by Tom Stoppard, starring Andrea Bowen, Matt Gaydos, Carolyn Seymour, Simon Templeman, Douglas Weston, Joanne Whalley and Matthew Wolf. The broadcast can be heard locally in Southern California on Saturday from 10pm to midnight on KPCC 89.3 FM, and can also be streamed on demand at http://www.latw.org/.
Henry May be the wittiest playwright of his generation, but he's hopelessly naive when it comes to understanding love and infidelity. Writing about betrayal is one thing, living with it is another. After Henry leaves his wife for another woman, he's confronted with being the cuckold himself. Both dazzlingly clever and emotionally naked, Henry's search for the "the real thing" in art and love demonstrates beautifully why both are worth the effort in the end. The broadcast includes an interview with Ira Nadel, a professor of English at the University of British Columbia and the author of "Double Act: A Life of Tom Stoppard."

Theatre Works' radio theater series can also be heard on the following stations (check local listings for broadcast times): 89.7 WGBH, Boston, MA; 91.5 WBEZ, Chicago, IL; 94.9 KUOW, Seattle, WA; 90.1 WABE, Atlanta, GA; 94.1 KPFA, Berkeley, CA; 91.1 KRCB, North Bay (San Francisco, CA); 89.1 KVPR, Fresno, CA; 89.3 KPRX, Bakersfield, CA; and many other stations nationwide.
