New Musical One Way Ticket to Hell Plays L.A. through 8/6

By:
Fred M. Caruso Productions, Inc., in association with Garuda Entertainment, will present the world premiere of the musical, One Way to Hell, which will play the Lee Strasberg Theatre Center's Marilyn Monroe Theatre, with previews on May 18 - 21 and May 25 - 28 and a limited run from June 1st through August 6th.

The musical is based on the film of the same title by Bamlet Lawrence Price, Jr., and produced by special arrangement with Brian T. Price, with music by Robert Cioffi, book and lyrics by Drew Taylor, and choreography by Josh Prince, under the direction of Richard Hochberg.

The new musical, features a four-piece live band, and a cast including: Kristen Howe (Cassandra Leigh), Erin Stoddard (Cindy), Ron Nummi (Lt. David Jason), P.J. Griffith (Russell/Sven), Barbara Passolt (Mother), Jack Harding (Father), Joe Settineri (Johnnie) and DT Matias (Chico).

The show "is a musical comedy about a good girl gone bad, very bad. She then decides to take everyone she comes in contact with on a wild roller coaster ride with her. It is the story of the rise and fall of Cassandra Leigh. Desperate to escape her overbearing parents, she is unconditionally loved by Johnnie, her childhood sweetheart. She dreams of fleeing her middle class life, and what looks to be a dismal future, the first chance she gets. That moment arrives when Cassandra is seduced by the fast talking Chico, and she quickly embraces a life of biker boys, drugs and sex. It's too late for her to turn back, not that she would. On a rampage and on the run, Cassandra's journey is keenly observed by Lt. David Jason. She knows for every choice she makes, good or bad, there is a consequence. But she has no regrets. Ultimately she will pay the price, but she has one helluva ride along the way," state press notes.

Other members of the production team include: AJ Robb (music consultant/vocal arranger), Shon Le Blanc (costume designer), Jo Winiarski (set designer), Jose Lopez (lighting designer) and Jeremiah Thies (set contruction).

The Marilyn Monroe Theatre in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Center is located at 7936 Santa Monica Boulevard (between Fairfax Avenue and Hayworth Avenue), in West Hollywood, CA. Both preview and limited run performances will be given on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m.
