Music Center Honors Arts Educators at BRAVO Awards Gala
By: BWW News Desk
The Music Center of Los Angeles County, a national leader in arts education, announced the winners of the 25th Annual BRAVO Awards at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles, on February 27, 2007. Established in 1982, the BRAVO Awards are a fundamental part of the Music Center's support in quality arts education, as well as a showcase of the dedication the finest educators have given to their students, their profession, and their communities. The awards ceremony and gala dinner are hosted by acclaimed producer/director Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman, The Princess Diaries).
Winners included the Coeur d'Alene School in Venice, teacher Linda Candib from Charles Helmers Elementary School in Valencia, and teacher Carla Bartlett from Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra. Each teacher received $4,000, as well $1,000 for arts-related field trips, all generously donated by members of Club 100, a group of women devoted to supporting arts education programs at the Music Center.
