Dule Hill, Carl Lumbly, Kimberly Elise, Justine Bateman, Tessa Thompson and Terrell Tilford star in Stick Fly, the West Coast premiere of a play from one of America's most provocative new playwrights, Lydia R. Diamond.  Shirley Jo Finney directs five performances for LA Theatre Works, November 14-18 at the Skirball Cultural Center.

All performances will be recorded to air on LATW's nationally-syndicated radio theater series, The Play's The Thing, whichbroadcasts weekly on public and satellite radio.

"Stick Fly is about a wealthy African American clan on Martha's Vineyard (which has had a significant black population since colonial days) wrestling with interracial romances, sibling rivalry, and issues of class and racial identification and parental expectations. Sensitive Kent LeVay and his slick brother 'Spoon' see their weekend at the family home on Martha's Vineyard as the perfect opportunity to introduce their girlfriends to their upper class African American parents.  Instead, they stumble into a domestic powder keg that exposes secrets of prejudice, hypocrisy and adultery," explain press notes.

Performances of Stick Fly take place on Wednesday, November 14 at 8PM; Thursday, November 15 at 8PM; Friday November 16 at 8PM; Saturday, November 17 at 3PM; and Sunday, November 18 at 4PM.

Tickets range from $20 to $47.  The Skirball Cultural Center is located at 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd, off the San Diego (405) Freeway in the Santa Monica Mountains (exit Skirball Center Drive).  For tickets and information, call the LA Theatre Works box office at (310) 827-0889 or go to www.latw.org.
