LA City College Announces Student Film Screening

By:

Vaughn Obern, Chair of the Cinema-Television Department at Los Angeles City College, has announced the Cinema-Television Department will screen Selected Short Student Films for Spring 2008 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, May 27, 28 and 29, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. each night, in Screening Room 176 located in the Communications Building, on the Los Angeles City College campus, 855 North Vermont Avenue (between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue), Hollywood, CA  90029.

The films to be screened are chosen by the students as the Best of the Semester. The same films will be shown on each of the three nights.  A $3 donation is requested for the maintenance of the Department's Equipment and Supply Accounts.

For further information, please call the Film-Television Department at 323-953-4000, ext. 2627, or contact Vaughn Obern at obernvg@lacitycollege.edu. Free Parking for patrons is provided in the Heliotrope Parking Lot on Heliotrope Avenue, one block south of Santa Monica Boulevard on the LACC campus.

The LACC Cinema-Television Department provides its students with the history, principles, technical competency, and hands on training needed to work successfully in cinema or television production.  Culminating their studies, advanced students produce 16mm or digital video short films, which can be used to demonstrate their skills and talents to potential employers or advanced programs.  Located in Hollywood, the "Entertainment Capital of the World," LACC's Film-Television Department's location and reputation have provided a wide array of internship and employment opportunities for students.
