HEATHERS THE MUSICAL Opens at Cal State Fullerton on April 19
Mean girls, Heather, Heather and Heather, rule Westerberg High School in "Heathers The Musical," featuring book, music, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe, with direction by James R. Taulli at Cal State Fullerton, April 19-May 5 in the Young Theatre on campus.
Based on the 1988 cult film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, the "Heathers" plot follows high school misfit Veronica Sawyer, who rejects the evil "Heathers" regime in favor of her dangerous boyfriend who plans to put the Heathers where they belong-six feet under. Writer Kevin Murphy served as Co-Executive Producer on ABC's "Desperate Housewives" and Laurence O'Keefe received 2007 Tony and Drama Desk nominations for his work on "Legally Blonde." Cal State Fullerton Director James R. Taulli has helmed over 200 productions and events for professional and university theatres across the country and internationally.
The cast of "Heathers The Musical" includes Gabrielle Adner, Sarah Bloom, Brianna Clark, Yadira Del Rincon, Jeff Garrido, Abigail Heilman, Dillon Klena, Lauren Louis, Megan McCarthy, Jack O'Leary, Matthew Ollson, Jessica Pierini, Marlon Magtibay, Gabriel Manley, Riley Mawhorter, Carly McLaurin, Kaden Narey, Amanda Neiman, Beth Roy, Steven Ruvalcaba, and Anthony Michael Vacio.
Scenic design is by Todd Faux, costume design is by Sierra Roberts, lighting design is by Clayton Fournival, sound design is by Paisha Bleich and Adam Sack, and hair/makeup design is by Nicolette Woodard.
"Heathers The Musical" plays at 8 pm on April 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 May 2, 3, 4 and at 2 6pm on April 21, 27, 28, May 4, 5. General admission tickets are $24 ($22 with advance Titan Discount purchase for students, seniors or with a CSUF ID). All tickets are $24 at the door. Tickets are available by calling (657) 278-3371, 11am-5pm, Monday through Friday and online.
Concluding the 2019 Spring season is "Spring Dance Theatre," running from May 2-12, 2019 in the Little Theatre on Campus featuring vibrant, premiere performances by CSUF dancers and choreographers.
