Edward L. Rada has been named the new Managing Director of Center Theatre Group, it was announced today by CTG Artistic Director/CEO Michael Ritchie.

Rada was the Chief Financial Officer of Center Theatre Group for 12 years (1996 - 2008) and is currently the President of the Music Center Foundation.

Following a nationwide search, Rada was asked by Ritchie to play a major role in the future of CTG, one of the largest and most active theatre companies in the country. He will work in close collaboration with Ritchie to ensure the effective and efficient operation of all aspects of the institution. He will supervise all management, financial, marketing, development, technology and human resources of the company, reporting to Ritchie.

Rada will return to CTG on July 1, 2011, after CTG Managing Director Charles Dillingham steps down on June 30 from the position he has held for 20 years.

In addition to the naming of the new Managing Director, Ritchie also announced that longtime CTG General Manager Douglas C. Baker has been promoted to the newly created position of CTG Producing Director. In this capacity, Baker will take on the added responsibility of supervising and managing the productions and operations for all three of CTG's theatres, as well as continuing his responsibilities in management, administration and facilities. He will continue to report to the Managing Director.
