Alan Cumming and Alice Ripley will lead star-studded cast for Lance Horne's L.A. Debut on Fri & Sat, Sept 19-20, 2008 at 9pm. Upright Cabaret proudly presents OPEN ALL NIGHT: The Songs of Lance Horne starring Alice Ripley, Jennifer Leigh Warren and Tracie Thoms with Tom Lowe and Julie Garnye and special guest Alan Cumming featuring the composer at the piano.

Join producers Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel, as they present Emmy-Award winning singer-songwriter Lance Horne's West Coast premiere with a cast of New York and LA's best.

Upright Cabaret presents a collection of Horne's newest & brightest material, including "Chemistry", the number from the ONE LIFE TO LIVE's musical episode that garnered Horne with this year's Emmy for Best Original Song.

Horne reunites with Broadway firecracker Alice Ripley (Side Show - Tony Nominee, The Who's To mmy), teams up for the first time with the incomparable Jennifer Leigh Warren (Broadway: Big River, Little Shop of Horrors, Marie Christine) and works it out with Julliard alum Tracie Thoms (RENT-the movie, Devil Wears Prada, Grindhouse, Broadway: Rent). Fresh from Les Miserables at the Hollywood Bowl, Upright Cabaret regulars Tom Lowe and Julie Garnye join special guest Tony winner Alan Cumming (Broadway: Cabaret - Tony Award, The ThreePenny Opera) for two unforgettable evenings of high notes, comic turns, and fresh tunes.

Composer-lyricist Lance Horne received a 2008 Emmy Award for Best Original Song for "Chemistry" (One Life to Live: Prom Night, The Musical, ABC).  As a singer and pianist, he has played this season with Amanda Palmer, Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, Meow Meow, Nellie McKay, Justin Bond, and opened for Death Cab for Cutie, appearing in Carnegie's Berlin in Lights series, the David Bowie-curated HighLine Festival, Weimar NY at the Green Door, Berlin, Shanghai, Ann Arbor, Sydney, and Edinburgh Festivals, and the Dresden Dolls Tour.  He provided the vocal arrangements for Broadway's Little Women, and annual opening numbers for The Actors Fund and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (Gypsy of the Year '04-'06). Music for TV:  Lincoln Center Tree Lighting with Sesame Street, ABC; 80th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for Diana DeGarmo & The Phoenix Boys Choir, NBC. Filmscores: To Paint the Portrait of a Bird (best short, NY-Avignon Festival), Ready? OK! (best feature, FilmOut San Diego, Best of Fest NewFest NYC, Outfest LA, Frameline SF).  Lance has workshopped and premiered musicals, operas, classical and dance works with numerous Off-Broadway companies, Universities, and in LA through Celebration Theater (Songs from an Unmade Bed) and CTG.  He received the Jonathan Larson Award for composer-lyricists, and residencies at O'Neill NMTF and TheaterWorks Palo Alto.  He is a visiting faculty member at EAMA in Paris, HyperIsland in Stockholm, Interlochen Arts Academy, and teaches precollege at The Juilliard School, where he received his Bachelors and Masters in Music studying with Milton Babbitt.
