By:

Led by musical director Christian McBride, conductor John Clayton and a host of jazz masters, Quincy Jones: The A&M Years at the Hollywood Bowl on September 6, 2017, at 8:00 p.m, shines a light on three masterful A&M jazz albums from the legendary musician, producer, conductor, industry executive and humanitarian, Quincy Jones. The three albums - Walking in Space, Gula Matari and Smackwater Jack - were released during a peak creative time in Jones' life that mirrored a transition in jazz history.

Opening the evening are artists who exemplify Jones' prodigious ear for talent - Richard Bona & Mandekan Cubano and Jonah Nilsson. Tribute to Quincy Jones: "The A&M Years" was conceived by Tim Jackson, Artistic Director of the Monterey Jazz Festival, and premiered there on September 16, 2016.
