Cabrillo Music Theatre To Host 2010 LA STAGE ALLIANCE OVATION AWARDS 1/17

Cabrillo Music Theatre, the Ovation Award-winning Resident Musical Production Company of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, is proud to announce it will be hosting the LA Stage Alliance 2010 OVATION AWARDS CEREMONY on Monday, January 17 at 7:30pm at the 1,800-seat Fred Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks. The Ovations are the nationally renowned annual awards that pay tribute to artistic excellence in theatre.
Carole W. Nussbaum, President/Chief Executive Officer of Cabrillo Music Theatre, in speaking of the awards, says: "It is a privilege to work in partnership with LA Stage Alliance in the joyful celebration of Southern California theatre. The Ovations are LA's most coveted theatre honor, as the LA Times put it. It's a privilege for Cabrillo to host the Awards in our theatre. We applaud all the nominees. "As the host of these awards, Cabrillo Music Theatre welcomes the brightest stars of stage and screen, performing artists, and a variety of influential figures to a lavish ceremony and receptions in tribute to Southern California's finest talents. Recent Ovation Award winners and nominees include Jerry Herman, Dolly Parton, Annette Bening, and Tony Award-Winner Sutton Foster (Thoroughly Modern Millie). Recent presenters have included Neil Patrick Harris, Garry Marshall, Tony Shalhoub ("Monk"), and Tonya Pinkins ("All My Children"). Theatres from all across Southern California attend each year including Center Theatre Group (Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Kirk Douglas Theatre), Pantages Theatre, Geffen Playhouse, Musical Theatre West, to name just a few.
