TV: On the Red Carpet for BILLY ELLIOT's Opening Night at the Pantages Theatre!



The U.S. National Tour of the 2009 Tony Award winning musical BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL officially opened in Los Angeles April 12, 2012 at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a limited 5 week engagement through May 13.

The opening was part of Broadway LA’s current 2012 season and Broadway World TV’s Los Angeles correspondents and co-producers Michael Sterling and Jerry Evans of JLE Media, Inc. were on hand for the red carpet festivities which drew a diverse group of Hollywood stars including Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, Chelsea Hightower and Anna Trebunsaya from Dancing with the Stars, Eric Roberts, Andie MacDowell, Cloris Leachman, Connie Stevens, Tony Award winner Robert Morse, Mickey Dolenz of The Monkees, Kate Linder of the Young and the Restless, Jo Anne Worley, Jai Rodriquez, Nancy Dussault, Bruce Vilanch, Melissa Manchester, Olympic Champion Greg Louganis and more!

Based on the international smash-hit film, BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry. BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL has earned critical acclaim around the world and was the winner of ten 2009 Tony Awards including Best Musical.

Currently alternating in the title role are Ty Forhan, Kylend Hetherington, Zach Manske and J.P. Viernes. Ty Forhan portrayed Billy Elliot at the Los Angeles premiere. Also featured were Leah Hocking (Mrs. Wilkinson); Rich Hebert (Dad); Patti Perkins (Grandma); Cullen Titmas (Tony); Joel Blum (George); Cameron Clifford and Jacob Zelonky (Michael); and Samantha Blaire Cutler (Debbie).

Rounding out the company were Madison Barnes, Michael Biren, Damien Brett, Sasha Ely-Judkins, Tim Funnell, Richard Gatta, Susan Haefner, Regan Mason Haley, Christopher M. Howard, Alison Levenberg, Kent M. Lewis, David Light, Patrick Lavallee, Rebecca Marlowe, Morgan Martin, Joel Newsome, Jeffrey Pew, Matthew Prescott, Jillian Rees-Brown, Vanessa Russo, Brionna Trilling, Genai Veal, Lexi Viernes, Olivia Wang, Thad Turner Wilson, Natalie Wisdom, Danielle Victoria Znuatas and Jeremy Zorek.

Tickets for BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL may be purchased online at www.BroadwayLA.org or by phone at 1-800-982-2787. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Pantages Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets. The Pantages Theatre is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, just east of Vine Street, and the box office opens daily at 10am. The box office is currently closed on Mondays.
