Bay Street Theater To Host Screening Of Jules Feiffer's BERNARD & HUEY

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts will present a special advanced screening of the Jules Feiffer-penned film BERNARD AND HUEY on Sunday, April 29th, at 2 pm. For the past almost seven years, I've truly enjoyed traveling the Island to tell you about the amazing shows and extraordinary talent that we have. As such, below are some of my picks for this coming season. Ok, to be honest, I'd have listed every show if I could! It was an enchanting gathering with the Talley family at the Five Towns College Performing Arts Center's dynamite production of Lanford Wilson's 'Fifth Of July.' This Broadway classic was beautifully and intimately brought back to life by director Milton Justice. It was as if we were members of the Talley family, sitting in their backyard watching and witnessing our relatives, played by an amazing troop of fresh young actors, mix family squabble with laughter and tears.

John Leguizamo Expands Latino Media and Entertainment Company To Form NGL Collective

John Leguizamo announced today that he and his partners are expanding their Latino media and entertainment company to form NGL Collective, and have appointed advertising industry veteran, Joe Bernard, as Chief Revenue Officer, effective immediately. Bernard will drive revenue and oversee the monetization and creation of new and existing lines of business within the organization. Based in New York, he will report to NGL Collective's CEO and Founder, David Chitel. The new structure spearheaded by NGL Collective will consolidate NGL Media, a leader in the U.S. Latinx digital video marketing space and NGL Studios, an in-house production team of master storytellers specializing in creating culturally-relevant branded entertainment for New Generation Latinx and multicultural audiences, under one umbrella.

When I attended the Broadway incarnation of In the Heights, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Accordingly, when they announced their current season, I had the upmost confidence that the showing at the gorgeous The John W. Engeman Theatre was going to be just as stellar. Being the Engeman Theatre, I was proven right. The wonderful production runs through April 29th at the Northport venue masterfully directed by Paul Stancato.

It was indeed a weekend of love at the Patchogue Theatre honoring the fiftieth anniversary of the iconic musical, Hair. To commemorate, the gorgeous Long Island venue put together a thrilling - and abbreviated - concert version of the Tony winner featuring top talent from Broadway and beyond for a stellar celebration brilliantly directed and conducted by Emmy, Grammy, and Tony winner John McDaniel. Set in the late 1960s/early 19070's, the story follows a "tribe" of politically active hippies promoting community and love during the Vietnam Era - one of the many themes in this story.
