The Chain Theatre Presents THE DREAMING
British Theatre Director Jordan Murphy has teamed up with American Choreographer, Mariel Letourneau and Musical Director, Marcus Baker to bring a stunning piece of musical theatre to The Chain Theatre in Long Island City. The Dreaming, based on A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, was commissioned and premièred by the National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT).
Composed by Howard Goodall, with lyrics and book by Charles Hart, it was first performed in England at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter in August 2001. Unseen eyes gaze on from tree and bracken - the woodlanders, vagabond children, spirits of the forest wait for the right time to cause havoc and mischief. Lost lovers roam, a quartet of bewildered wanderers, mismatched and confused. How can the mysterious boy with the beguiling gaze serve these four...
