LIC One Act Festival 2016 Now Accepting Submissions
The LIC One Act Festival 2016 is now accepting submissions for this year's festival. Deadline for submissions is September 12th and acceptances will be awarded from now until September 19th.
The LIC One Act Festival 2016 is a competition style one-act play festival. The plays are divided into three different programs each program will run eight times during the course of the festival. The Audience will vote for best plays. The top six plus nominated plays will then compete on November 13th at 8pm for Best Actor, Best Actress, Director and Best Play. Best Actor wins $50, Actress $50, Director $100 and Best Play $200.
All types of short play are considered but please remember to keep the staging simple with minimal set and props. We are ideally looking for plays that are 10 - 20 minutes in length. We will give special consideration to plays that are of the Halloween nature due to the time of year that this festival takes place during.
The LIC One Act Festival 2016 plans to run a rotating schedule of performances beginning Thursday, Oct. 27th through Sunday, Nov. 13th. Each Play is responsible for providing their Director and Actors for their production. Break a leg! Equity Showcases permitted but acts will obtain their own code, The Secret Theatre will provide Equity compliant Insurance to the productions.
