Hampton Theatre Company Presents VENUS IN FUR "Venus In Fur"-an adult drama by David Ives will be the second play of the Hampton Theatre Company's 2017-2018 season, opening on January 11 at the Quogue Community Hall (125 Jessup Avenue, Quogue) and running through January 28.

Desperate to find an actress to play the female lead in his adaptation of the classic tale of sadomasochism, Venus in Furs, a beleaguered playwright/director auditions a vulgar and equally desperate actress. Though utterly wrong for the sophisticated part, Vanda piques the playwright's interest with her seductive talents and secretive manner. As the two work through the script, they blur the line between play and reality, entering into an increasingly serious game of submission and domination that only one of them can win.

A mysterious, funny and erotic drama, "Venus in Fur" invites "both carnal and cerebral excitement" (Village Voice).

The cast features Tristan Vaughan and Tina Jones. HTC board member Diana Marbury directs. Set design is by Sean Marbury; lighting design by Sebastian Paczynski; and costumes by Teresa Lebrun.

"Venus in Fur" runs at the Quogue Community Hall from January 11 to January 28 with performances on Thursdays and Fridays at 7, Saturdays at 8 and Sundays at 2:30, and a matinee on Saturday, January 27 at 2:30

The Hampton Theatre Company and the Quogue Club at the Hallock House are offering a lunch and theater package for the Saturday, January 27, 2:30 performance.

In addition to the Quogue Club lunch and theater package on January 27, special dinner and theater packages in collaboration with the Westhampton, Southampton, Hampton Bays and Quogue libraries are available. For additional information visit www.hamptontheatre.org or email info@hamptontheatre.org.
