Dorrance Dance Creates Their Own Music in Groundbreaking Performance Image

Using original tap "instruments," the award-winning dance company Dorrance Dance performs ETM: Double Down at Walton Arts Center on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7 pm.

Tickets range from $30 to $85 plus applicable fees, and the top ticket prices comes with a meet and greet. Patrons can also purchase reserved parking in the Spring Street deck for $7. Tickets and parking can be purchased in-person at the Walton Arts Center Box Office, by calling 479.443.5600 or by visiting waltonartscenter.org.

With the right programming, the sound of a single footfall can range from a snare drum to an arpeggio. Michelle Dorrance and Nicholas Van Young have created a dance experience unlike any other, where the artists not only dance to music, but they also create the music. ETM: Double Down is a fun, high-energy dance experience.

Based in New York City, Dorrance Dance is led by artistic director and 2015 MacArthur Fellow, Michelle Dorrance. The company blasts open the standard notions of tap, and have received accolades, rave reviews and international acclaim for their passionate commitment to expanding America's original art form. Rhythmically, technically and conceptually moving, Dorrance Dance honors the beautiful history of tap while pushing the dance form to its limits.
