Painter and photographer Chuck Close will bring his latest exhibition, A Couple Ways of Doing Something, to the Alice Pratt Brown Atrium and Galleries at the Arkansas Arts Center from April 29 to June 26. This travelling exhibit was organized by Aperture and sponsored by Lannan Foundation, Carey C. Shuart and Marti and Henry Thomas.

This exhibition features Chuck Close's delicately intimate daguerreotypes, large scale Jacquard tapestries and digital pigment prints paired with Bob Holman's witty and beautifully typeset poems. The collected work becomes a transfixing group portrait of Close's influential and highly creative circle of friends as well as an exploration of challenging photographic mediums.

Arkansas Arts Center will host a member reception on Thursday, April 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guests accompanying members can join at the door for $10 off a new Arts Center membership.

Admission to the Arkansas Arts Center is free, though there may be a charge for special exhibitions. The Center is located at 501 East 9th St., adjacent to MacArthur Park. Visit www.arkarts.com for more information about the Center and its exhibitions.
