Popular ‘60s entertainers Gary Lewis and The Playboys will perform their greatest hits at the Suncoast Showroom, September 29 and 30.

In the summer of 1964, after playing as a house band at Disneyland, Gary Lewis and The Playboys were signed to their first record deal. With the producing team of Snuff Garret and Leon Russell behind them, the band took their first single, “This Diamond Ring,” straight to No. 1. Their second hit, “Count Me In,” rose to No. 2 on the charts, and the band followed with more top ten hits, including “Save Your Heart For Me,” “Everybody Loves A Clown” and “She’s Just My Style.”

In 1965, Lewis was named Cash Box magazine’s “Male Vocalist of the Year,” winning the honor over Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. He was the first and only artist during the 1960s to have his first several releases reach Billboard magazine’s Top 10 and the Hot 100 chart. The band appeared numerous times on popular television shows like “American Bandstand,” “Hullabaloo,” “The Tonight Show” and “The Ed Sullivan Show.”

The bands most recent single, “You Can’t Go Back,” was released in January 2012.

Showtime each evening is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available from $15.95, plus tax and fees. Tickets can be purchased at any Coast Casinos box office, by calling 702.636.7075, or visiting www.suncoastcasino.com.
