Latin Sports and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) announced the biggest rivalry in Mexican soccer, El Súper Clásico (The Super Classic), featuring Club Deportivo Guadalajara and Club America, will be played in Las Vegas for the first time ever on Wednesday, July 3rd at Sam Boyd Stadium at 8 pm PT. The New Tropicana Las Vegas is acting as the host hotel for the event.

Both Mexican clubs, America and Guadalajara, are the two most successful and popular Mexican football clubs with América holding 10 titles, and Guadalajara, commonly known as Chivas, with 11.

"We at Latin Sports are very proud to promote the Súper Clásico in Las Vegas for the first time," stated Tim Luce, Managing Director of Latin Sports. "I have personal experience working two Chivas versus America soccer matches in San Francisco at AT&T Park. Both were tremendous successes and I know we will be able to duplicate that same success here in Las Vegas."

"We are extremely excited to host the Súper Clásico at Sam Boyd Stadium. Club America and Chivas are two of the best known Mexican Liga MX teams and this is the match up that the soccer fans in Las Vegas have been waiting for," said Mike Newcomb, Executive Director of Sam Boyd Stadium. "Coming off last year's match-up between Real Madrid and Santos Laguna in August and then Chivas USA versus Colorado Rapids in February, and to be able to bring another big game to Las Vegas and Sam Boyd Stadium like this, gives the city a chance to see live soccer at the highest level."

"We are honored to be selected as the host hotel for Súper Clásico," said Danny Wade, president and chief operating officer for The New Tropicana Las Vegas. "We look forward to welcoming the teams and their coaches to our newly transformed resort and look forward to exceeding their every expectation."

Founded in 1906, Chivas is the only club in Mexico to exclusively field Mexican players, a tradition that has made the Rebaño Sagrado a constant source of talented players to the Mexican national team for many years, including current Mexican National Team Head Coach Jose Manuel "Chepo" de la Torre, Omar Bravo, Carlos Salcido, and Javier "Chicharito" Hernández. The Super Clasico in Las Vegas will serve as the first stop of Chivas' 2013 US Tour. SUM has represented the brand, marketing and promotional aspects of Chivas in U.S. territory since 2004. Boost Mobile and MillerCoors return as official sponsors of Guadalajara's 2013 U.S. Tour.

Club America, referred to as Las Aquilas (The Eagles), is regarded as the most followed and charismatic of the Mexican First Division. While there are Mexican Soccer clubs that have been in existence for over 100 years, nobody has more titles than Club America with 33 titles in 96 years. Las Aguilas are still making history, playing the finals this year and having one of the best tournaments in recent history.

Led by head coach Miguel Herrera, The Players are always improving their skills and today have one of the most competitive teams in the country. America, for the third time in a row is playing the Mexican liguilla, hoping to win one more title and keep making history as one of the most respected soccer institutions in Mexico.
