The Kansas City Symphony’s Young Composers Institute gives select high school students the opportunity to work one-on-one with a professional composer. Under Adam Schoenberg’s guidance, students will learn about composition through private lessons and group master classes. Students will also benefit from presentations by Kansas City Symphony musicians, librarians and staff. The Young Composers Institute will culminate with a public performance of each student’s piece by Kansas City Symphony musicians.
