Fresh dramatic work will be displayed at the Barn Players 10th Annual 6x10 Play Festival, one weekend only: December 8th, 9th, & 10th, 2017. This annual gathering showcases six original ten minute plays all written by Kansas City talent. Six local playwrights are given the opportunity to see their script come to life on the Barn Players stage for the first time. This years outstanding selections include:
• The Little Bit You Can Do by Lewis Morrow. Directed by Nick Hazel. A woman visits her boyfriend in prison with an ultimatum.
• Bittersweet and Strange by Michael Dragen. Directed by Em Loper. What really happened after the Beauty and the Beast ended?
• A Man's Musical by Phil Kinen. Directed by Barbara Nichols. A fellow discovers his girlfriend’s Dad has very definite ideas on what makes a "man's musical."
• Cornered by Aaron Scully. Directed by Lindsay Adams. Two souls out of rehab and in recovery discover that their lives have taken very different turns.
• Route 84 House Fire by Jessie Salsbury. Directed by Craig Aikman. An official investigates a house fire by interviewing it’s only living survivor.
• Best Friend Love by Emma Carter. Directed by Alexa Cioffi. Two best friends attempt to figure out dating in the era of sexting.
