Intimate Apparel is a play by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage, set in 1905 New York City, following Esther, a seamstress who sews exquisite lingerie for an array of clients while navigating a forbidden romance with an Orthodox Jewish fabric vendor and a long-distance courtship with a worker building the Panama Canal. The production stars KCAT Ensemble Member Chioma Anyanwu as Esther, with Lynn King, Allison F. Rich, David Sadzin, Joe Serrano, and Teonna Wesley in supporting roles. The production is directed by Teresa Leggard, who makes her KCAT directorial debut with this show.
