The performance is designed to highlight the WSU dancers, the extraordinary film talents residing within the WSU Media Resource Center and the spectacular sounds and songs of the Wiyos. The performance is loosely based on the story of Dorothy and Oz and describes Dorothy’s transition from young girl to woman, a philosophical journey about self-discovery, dream and the subconscious. The characters in the performance appear both on stage and on film, transitioning back and forth from one to the other in a magical display of creative choreography. The performers share the stage with the Wiyos as they present both their original songs from the their album, BroKen Land Bell, and a selection of new works. Fun for all ages, come enjoy this very Kansan story and experience where art and imagination define a theatrical experience that will give new definition to a familiar story.
